As I sat in the main lodge at the end of my very first summer at Arowhon, I felt a great sense of sadness that I was no longer going to be at camp. Tears streamed down my face saying my goodbyes to staff and campers who had become like family to me. I did not want camp to come to an end, and this realization struck me very hard. While I may have been new to Arowhon this summer, I can truly say that it has become my home and a place where I feel safe. I can say that during my stay here, I have never felt so comfortable with myself and so complete. I have both of you, the staff, and campers to thank for that. The environment for personal growth, happiness and friendship that you have created here is unbelievable and unlike any other place I can imagine. |
