Andrew Schipper

Senior Boys

Andrew is from Toronto and is attending the University of Kings College in Halifax where he studies history and political science. This summer will be Andrew’s fourth year on staff and his seventh summer at Camp Arowhon. Throughout his years as a camper, LIT and staff member, Andrew has never been away from the point, which he proclaims to be the greatest place on earth. When he’s not in the point, Andrew has occupied his time by playing on the basketball team at Kings, partaking in university radio broadcasting and volunteering for the white ribbon program against violence against women.

 
Hartlee Zucker

L.I.T. Director

Hartlee is from Toronto and attends McGill University. This is Hartlee’s thirteenth summer at Arowhon. She was a camper at Arowhon for six years and this will be her seventh year on staff. Having worked as a counsellor in Junior Girls, as Head of Drama and as Inter Girls Section Head, we know that Hartlee will continue to bring her devotion and professionalism to the L.I.T. program. We are ecstatic that Hartlee will be returning to us again this summer as our L.I.T. Director. We know that her fun-loving, creative, and knowledgeable personality make her the ideal role model for all our L.I.T.s.

 
Isabelle Ennis

Junior Girls

Isabelle is from Toronto, and is a third year student at the University of Western Ontario, where she is in the M.I.T program (media, information, technoculture). In her spare time she is on the intramural inner tube water polo team. She also volunteered at the London Blind Swim, she taught blind students how to swim. She was also part of the Thames Valley District School Board Violence Prevention program. Isabelle excelled as a our Assistant Swim Instructor last summer and we know her inherent warmth and good natured personality will make the Junior Girls Section a safe and fun place.

 
Jacob Yanowski

L.I.T. Director

Jake is from Chicago, but a proud Canadian by heritage. This will be Jake’s tenth year at Arowhon and his fifth year on Staff. Jake spent three years as a counselor in the Point, where he won SC Specialist MVP two years in a row. Last summer he was the Junior Boy Section Head. He is in his third year at Emerson College, in Boston, where he is studying Screenwriting. His college experience has included a semester abroad in the Netherlands and soon to be a semester in LA, during his senior year.

 
Joe Wolfond

Inter Boys

This summer will be Joe’s eleventh at Camp Arowhon and marks his seventh year on staff. Joe has spent his time on staff as a devoted counselor in Inter Boys and Senior Boys, as excelled as a director of our L.I.T. program and as our Inter Boy Section Head last summer. Outside camp Joe is completing his degree in English and Russian Literature from the University of Dalhousie in Halifax. His strong leadership skills and caring and outgoing personality make Joe the perfect person to lead the Inter Boys section for a second summer in a row.

 
Naomi Reed

Junior Boys

Naomi is from Toronto and attends McGill University. She has been attending Camp Arowhon as a camper for eight years and this will be her third year on staff. She successfully completed the LIT program in summer 2007. Outside camp Naomi plays soccer, was the co-editor for the yearbook, and volunteered as a math tutor for underprivileged elementary kids. Naomi also works for a big Toronto radio station in promotions where she works closely with fundraisers such as the Sick Kid's Radiothon. Naomi wants to pursue a career where she can work with children. We are looking forward to welcoming Naomi’s outgoing, funny, and caring personality back this summer and know she will make Junior Boys the place to be.

 
Rachel Welch

Senior Girls

Rachel is a graduate from the University of South Carolina. Since graduating she has been working and traveling. She recently returned from a trip to Australia with her sister. In addition to traveling down under Rachel has been to New Zealand, Thailand and completed an outdoor educator semester in the Rocky Mountains last spring. Rachel will be celebrating her 10th summer at Arowhon this year. She was a camper for five years, a CIT and then a counselor in the senior girl section for several years. Rachel is currently taking an Emergency Medical Technicians course and works as a babysitter for several youngsters. She loves hanging out with her dog Buddy and is very excited about returning to camp this summer.

 
Ryan Forrest

Inter Girls

Ryan is from Aurora, Ontario and is a student at Queen’s University. Outside school, Ryan has volunteered as a Peer Health Educator, promoting healthy living for first year students in residence. Ryan has lots of camp experience, after having spent her summers as a child going to Camp Otterdale in Smiths Falls, where she has fond memories of many canoe trips in Algonquin. As well, a few summers ago, Ryan worked at Camp Le Bilboquet in Quebec. This will be Ryan’s fourth summer at Arowhon, after originally having joined us as an Office Assistant and then being a superlative counsellor. Ryan is fun loving and wonderful staff member whose caring nature will make the Inter Girls Section a positive place for her campers and staff.
