Head Boys Swim
Alexandra was born and raised in White Rock, British Columbia. She is completing her degree in environmental studies at McGill University where she participated in several environmental initiatives, volunteered at numerous organizations and worked with at-risk youth and children of all ages and abilities. She has played the piano since she was 4 years old, was on swimming, volleyball and basketball teams throughout high school and participated in varsity rugby and rowing in university. This will be her 1st year at Camp Arowhon, but her 9th year at summer camp. As an experienced and certified lifeguard and swim instructor, she hopes to transfer her skills to environmental education for her future career goals and hopes to one day, be a freelance conservation photographer. In September, she will be doing an internship with Four Green Steps, an on-line environmental company where she will design environmental curriculum for high school and elementary school students. Sasja is excited to be back at camp and work and play in the beautiful Algonquin Park! |

Head Float
Andrea is originally from Toronto and graduated from the University of Guelph. At school, Andrea kept herself busy as a member and manager of the varsity rugby team while studying biology and nutrition. Between graduation and camp, Andrea has decided to have the most amount of fun possible. This fun includes living in Vancouver working for the 2010 Olympic games, as well as working as Youth Staff for Princess Cruise lines, cruising up and down the coast of Mexico. Andrea plans on continuing the fun at camp this summer for her fourth year on Arowhon staff, where she has made it her personal goal to make all campers and staff have as much fun as she does... all summer long! |

Head High Ropes & Zipline
Andrew is from New Zealand, although he grew up in South Africa and has spent time living in England and Australia. He has also traveled to various other countries as he loves traveling in general, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. He has an IT degree, and more recently has qualified as a counselor. Andrew loves spending time outdoors and has a particularly strong passion for rock climbing. This will be his first trip to Canada, one that he is thoroughly looking forward to! |

Head Archery
Bob Lemstra comes from the Netherlands and is in ubniversity to become a sports teacher. Bob likes to work with kids and does that already. He works as a survival guide on a survival terrain where kids celebrate their birthday parties. When someone comes to celebrate his/her party he gets the responsibility, and makes sure they have a fun day. In his spare time you can find him outside playing all kinds of sports. When he is done with his work he likes to practice archery with colleagues or a friend. Bob is very excited about coming to Arowhon and hopes to find some new Robin Hoods. |

Head Nature
Bronwen is coming to Arowhon from Halifax, Nova Scotia and this will be her second year on staff. Last year Bronwen worked as our Head Instructor for High Ropes. She is working towards a major in Environmental Studies and a minor in English at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick. In the future she plans on pursuing a Masters degree in Environmental Studies and teaching English overseas. Last year she was on the executive committee of her residence and for the past two years has been involved in her university’s SMILE program, working with children with special needs. In the past she has worked as a counsellor for two summers at a camp outside Halifax. In her free time she loves to swim, snowboard, canoe, kayak, sing, and play guitar. Bronwen loves being outdoors and can’t think of any place she would rather be for the summer than Algonquin Park! |

Head Ride
Christie is currently attending the University of Guelph, majoring in history while dabbling in languages and art history. It's her first summer attending Arowhon, but definitely not her first summer at camp. She worked at Cedar Valley Ranch and has been teaching swimming for several years. She volunteers at the local museum, on campus, and just finished a year of fostering a future dog guide with the Lions Foundation. She has been on tennis, field hockey, lacrosse and curling teams, but enjoys virtually any sport. In her spare time she paints and plays piano. After school Christie hopes to have adventures and end up working at a museum or art gallery. Christie is super excited to join the Arowhon family this summer! |

Head Girls Swim
Crystal attends Trent University and majors in psychology. In the future, Crystal hopes to become a communicative disorders assistant. She currently works as a lifeguard and swimming instructor at two pools in Oshawa. She also volunteers at a youth group for individuals with special needs and has extensive camping experience. Crystal did a great job as Head Girls Swim last summer. Given Crystal’s widespread teaching and guarding experience, we are confident that the Girl’s Swim dock will be a safe and rewarding environment this summer. |

Head Land Sports
Daniel Rumack is from Toronto and currently attends Brock University. This will be his fifth summer on staff. Daniel began his camp career as a junior boy and over the years has been a constant source of friendship and entertainment for all around him. Daniel’s commitment and light hearted demeanor make him a strong and dedicated staff member. We are excited to watch the landsports program flourish under his guidance again this summer |

Head Drama
Delia currently lives in Halifax Nova Scotia and is going into her third year at University of King’s College where she is pursuing a combined degree in journalism and theatre. In her spare time loves sailing, snorkeling, painting and dance. This will be Delia’s first summer on staff at Arowhon and we are incredibly excited to welcome her to the team. |

Head Surf
Evan is celebrating his 13th summer at Arowhon. He’s from Toronto and is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal, with a degree in physiology. In September he will be studying at the University of Toronto Medical School. This summer will be Evan’s 5th year on staff after being a fantastic counsellor in Senior Boys for the past three years and also having worked as a Head Instructor on our Sail Dock. Before becoming staff with us, Evan was a camper at Arowhon for 8 years. Over the years Evan has kept himself busy outside camp and school by playing hockey and soccer and teaching swimming lessons to children. Evan is incredibly hard working, sweet, funny and generous of spirit. We are very excited to have Evan back as one of our Head Instructors and know that his loud and energetic personality will be large asset to the windsurfing program this summer. |

Head Kayak
Francesca is from Manchester in the United Kingdom and currently attends Manchester Metropolitan University. She is an avid kayaker and outdoors person and we are incredibly excited to welcome Francesca to Arowhon this summer. This will be her first summer on staff and we know her fun loving disposition and energy will make the kayak dock the place to be! |

Co-Head Sail
Heather is from West Bloomfield, MI and is a student at the University of South Carolina where she studies Exercise Science. This will be her thirteenth summer at Camp Arowhon and her fifth summer on staff. Her free time is occupied with the USC club tennis team, intramural volleyball, working as a hostess, and hanging out with friends. Heather is really looking forward to this upcoming summer and she has some great new ideas for the Sail Dock. |

Head Climb
John is from Cobourg and is in his third year at Queen's University where he is studying sociology. After graduation, he plans on attending teacher's college. He is a member of the Queen's Outdoors Club and works at a student coffee shop at Queen’s. John attended Camp Quin Mo Lac for twelve years, where he progressed from camper to L.I.T. to counsellor, and spent a summer as member of the CRATIO team, responsible for instructing canoeing, rockwall and archery sessions, among other things. John is very excited for his first summer at Arowhon, and is looking forward to meeting a lot of great people and enjoying beautiful Algonquin. |

Head Canoe
Karen was born and raised Ottawa and lived there until she enrolled in University. She completed a degree in Human Kinetics at University of Guelph and is doing graduate studies in Athletic Therapy in Toronto. She was a member of the Human Kinetics student council and won a memorial scholarship for her leadership and academics and an award for her outstanding achievement in exercise physiology. Karen has have worked at activity day camps for many summers including a rock climbing camp in Guelph. She has also volunteered at elementary schools to promote physical fitness and as a soccer coach for four summers. Last summer she excelled as our Gead Climbing Instructor. She is a well rounded athlete and incredibly generous and creative leader, and we are excited to have her at camp again this summer. |

Co-Head Sail
Lorne lives in Ottawa and currently attends Dalhousie University, pursuing a degree in Commerce. This summer will be Lorne’s 4th year on staff but he was a camper and LIT before that for nine summers. Lorne is a sweet, caring and incredibly funny guy and has kept us laughing and entertained at camp for as long as we can remember. Lorne has worked in both the inter boys section and in the Point, as well as with campers with special needs, and he has a unique ability to connect with just about anyone. Lorne has always shone as a counsellor, and in the past was awarded the "JC MVP Award". Lorne took last summer off from camp in order to complete a co-op program and to lead trips to various parts of the United States. We are incredibly excited to welcome him back to his summer home. |

Head Guitar
Peter is originally from Ottawa, but currently lives in Halifax where he attends Dalhousie University. He is going into his fourth year. This will be Peter’s first summer at Arowhon, but he has tons of experience working with kids at various sports camps, and is familiar with Algonquin as a result of numerous canoe trips through the park. Peter is looking forward to jamming with every single camper at Arowhon and sharing the joy of music. |

Head Tennis
Robert attends Queen’s University in Kingston. This will be his third summer on staff and eleventh year at Arowhon. He is currently studying sciences in the hopes of becoming a medical professional. He has volunteered at the Baycrest Apotex Centre and is currently helping out at the Kingston General Hospital. Robert participates on his school’s tennis, badminton, and sailing clubs and on an intramural ice hockey team. He is also an intern for the sustainability office of the Queen’s Alma Mater Society. He loves winter spots but has always waited for the summer so he could hit the tennis courts. With his Ontario Tennis Association Coaching certificate, he is very excited to teach tennis at camp this summer. |

Head A&C
Rochelle is from Toronto and studies philosophy at the University of King's College in Halifax. This is Rochelle's second summer as an instructor at Arowhon. Previously she spent four summers working with children at the Cleveland’s House Resort and at Bayview Glen Day Camp. In Halifax, Rochelle volunteers with a society that raises money for local women's charities and with an international outreach group for visiting exchange students. This year Rochelle's studies took her to Denmark where she participated in a semester abroad. Because of Rochelle’s commitment to the environment and dedication to campers we are very excited to have her leading camp's A&C program. |
