Brendan grew up on a farm outside Sydenham, Ontario and is currently attending Mount Royal University in Calgary, where he is enrolled in the Outdoor Eucation degree program. His first canoe camping trip was in Algonquin Park when he was eight months old, but one of the snowiest was down the Missinaibi River to James Bay. Last spring he worked at a research station on the Arctic tundra, 300 km north of Yellowknife NWT, and the ice had to be augured for more than two meters to get to water. He is now looking forward to his third ice and snow free summer as a canoe tripper at Camp Arowhon. |

Christian is from Midland and attends University of Western Ontario. This will be his first summer on staff at Arowhon, but he is an avid outdoor adventurer. He also has tons of experience working with kids. For example, in 2007 Christian traveled to Osaka, Japan to teach English to junior high school students. Christian is excited to be spending his summer in Algonquin Park and we are thrilled to welcome him to our staff this summer. |

Edward is from Christchurch, New Zealand. He recently graduated from Massey University where he obtained a degree in business. This is Edward's first visit to Canada and his first summer on staff at Arowhon. In New Zealand Edward has been extensively involved in sports competing in triathlons and playing a variety of sports. We are incredibly excited to see Edward as a tripper this summer! |

Heather is from Bowmanville and is currently living in Thunder Bay, for university. She is going into her second year of her Adventure and Ecotourism program this fall. This will be Heather's second summer at Arowhon and her sixth year working at summer camp. After university she plans on taking a year to explore South America and pursue her desire to be an adventure tour guide. |

Helen is Sydney, Australia and this will be her first time visiting Canada. Helen has worked as a lifeguard in aquatic centres in the past and spends a lot of her free time chasing the sun and traveling. Helen's ultimate career goal is to get a job in the Antarctica with the Australian Antarctic Division. In January she flew to the Antarctica so she could see it with her own eyes. Helen is really looking forward to taking out canoe trips and knows she's going to have lots of fun just getting out and having some adventures and sharing her excitement with her campers on trip. |

Hilary lives in Toronto and plans to pursue a degree in science. This will be her second year as a tripper at Arowhon. For the past few years she has taught skiing at Snowhawks Ski School. At school, she is an active member of their leadership program, planning organizing, and running events specifically focused on welcoming new students. She has also been on the tennis, swim, badminton, volleyball, and ultimate Frisbee teams. Hilary has been a passionate canoe tripper since the age of six, completing canoe trips ranging from single overnights to forty-two days. She is very excited to come back and take out returning campers and new campers on trip. |

John is from Dallas, Texas and is widely know at Arowhon as “Tex”. This will be Tex's third summer at Arowhon as a tripper. He has just graduated from university in a pre-law program and plans to pursue a law degree. Tex enjoys being outdoors and loves the camp experience. Tex enjoys taking out canoe trips, while being a good leader and an all around fun guy. |

Josh is currently in his final year at Michigan State University where he is pursuing a degree in Zoology. An active athlete, Josh is involved in a variety of sports clubs and teams at his school and is looking forward to bringing his passion for the outdoors to all those he takes on trip. Josh grew up as a camper at Arowhon. This will be his third year as a tripper and fourth year on staff. We are incredibly excited to welcome Josh back to Arowhon this summer. |

Julia is proud that this summer is her ninth at Arowhon where she will take on a new and exciting role as a canoe tripper! While originally from Toronto, Julia is working towards her Masters degree in clinical psychology at the New School for Social Research in New York City where she is avidly volunteering in the "Gender and Health lab", conducting research on women's health and psycho-oncology. Julia has a passion for leadership and mentoring children, particularly adolescent girls, and during her undergraduate years at Dalhousie University organized a conference entitled "The Power of Being a Girl" in Halifax, NS, aimed at empowering girls aged 11-14. She also has been an introductory teaching assistant for psychology students, as well as a devoted volunteer at the Dalhousie Women's Centre, where she acted as a liaison between the campus and the community. Julia's overall enthusiasm, in addition to her passion and charisma for teaching, learning and having fun suit her perfectly for the role of leading children through the Algonquin wilderness |

Kristen Sullivan is from Maple Shade, NJ and attends university in Cortland, New York studying Outdoor Recreation with a concentration in Leadership. Kristen used to work at another camp for the past four years and decided to come to Arowhon to gain more trip-leading experience. With her major, Kristen has had the opportunity to volunteer at the elementary school near her university. The programs involved leading games that introduced different resiliency traits to combat bullying and the principles of Leave No Trace. In her three years at SUNY Cortland, Kristen has been the treasurer of the Women's Rugby Club and the Recreation Association. After graduating with a degree in her major, Kristen is hoping to work for a guiding agency to lead trips. Eventually she would like to work with at-risk youth in the experiential education field. Kristen is very hard working, has excellent decision-making skills, and has a whole back pocket full of activities she is excited to share with the campers this summer. |

Laura is in her fourth year of study at Carleton University where she is pursuing a degree in criminology and criminal justice with a focus in psychology. Outside of the classroom Laura is an active member of the Carleton University Student Emergency Response Team. This will be her second year on staff at Arowhon and she looks forward to being out in the wilderness. |

Madison is in the eleventh grade at Inglenook Community Highschool. This will be her first year at Camp Arrowhon and she is super excited! She has volunteered with children at various day camps and schools as well as completed an LIT program at a different summer camp. She's very into performing sketch and improv comedy and loves to make people laugh. |

Meg grew up in Toronto and studies psychology and visual arts at the University of British-Columbia in Vancouver. Meg completed two years of leadership training at a camp in Northern Ontario, and has been a counselor at a camp in Nova Scotia for the last two summers. In 2009 she led a 10 day leadership canoe trip at the camp. In grade 11, Meg organized a canoe trip through her high school, which is now a bi-annual event open to senior students. In grade 12, she was MVP for her ultimate Frisbee team, a president of the Outdoors Club and an organizer of the Leadership Canoe Trip. Meg snowboards at Whistler on the weekends, and is a member of the Ski & Snowboard Club as well as the Surf Club at UBC. Meg is a note taker in University for students with special needs, and worked at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games this winter. This summer is going to her first summer at Arowhon. |

Nathalie, or 'Nat' is from Waterloo, and attends the University of Guelph where she is on the Dean's honours list. This will be her second summer on staff, but third summer at Arowhon. Aside from Arowhon, Nathalie has attended two other camps, and spent a summer as a lifeguard and counselor at Olympia Sports Camp, where she was nominated for best counselor. Nathalie has also been highly involved at her high school as a mentor and member of the Human Rights Club, as well as volunteering at numerous school events such as Fast for Freedom and Relay for Life. She has participated in sports including soccer, field hockey, cross-country, and rugby. In her spare time enjoys working at lifeguarding and teaching swimming at the University of Guelph pool. |

Romain is originally from France but is currently living in Montreal where he attends a Stanislas. This is Romain's first summer on staff, and in the past at Arowhon he succeeded in our LIT program. Romain is always positive, supportive and likes teamwork. In his free time Romain plays tennis, badminton, volleyball and enjoys hiking. In addition, Romain volunteers in a gymnastic course and as an after school tutor. He loves nature and looks forward to sharing his passion for the outdoors with all those he takes on trip this summer. |

Head Trip
Sarah is from Toronto and attends Trent University in Peterborough. She is in her third year of the concurrent education program and is majoring in biology and chemistry. Sarah keeps herself busy by being involved in various sports including running cross country and competing in triathlons, as well as canoe tripping throughout the summer. Through Sarah's university program she has had several classroom teaching experiences, and one day she would like to become a camp director and teach children with special needs. Sarah has thoroughly enjoyed her past camp experiences, and we are looking forward to having Sarah back at Arowhon this summer and sharing her passion for the outdoors with our campers! |

Scott is from New Zealand where he works as a adventure guide and outdoor instructor. Last year he worked at an outdoor education centre in Hong Kong. He spends a lot of time in the outdoors doing kayaking, fishing, tramping, climbing, diving, hunting and rugby. He has always wanted to visit Canada and experience the wonderful landscapes. He is looking forward to meeting friendly people and spending the summer in Alonquin Park. This will be Scott's first summer at Arowhon and we incredibly excited to welcome him to our staff. |

Sherilyn is from Adelaide, Australia. She has just recently finished a four year university degree in middle and secondary education, majoring in outdoor and physical education. She worked with students during university placements and as an instructor at various camps. She enjoys soccer, trekking, rock-climbing and surfing. Her plans for the future include traveling and teaching in the outdoors. This will be Sherilyn's first summer on staff at Arowhon and we are excited to see her bring her passion for the outdoors to Alongquin Park. |
