Assistant Ropes
Amy is from Devon in England and attends Bicton College where she is in her final year pursuing an Outdoor Leisure degree. She has never been to a camp before, but has done a lot of work with children. She is a senior karate instructor, and has her own class of 5 - 16 year olds that she teaches on a weekly basis. She is also a highly decorated karate fighter with numerous awards from competitions around the world. This will be Amy’s first year on staff at Arowhon and we are more than excited to have her with us! |

Assistant Surf
Brecon Gibbs is from New Zealand and has been studying outdoor education for two years where he has gained lots of outdoor experience: Giding, white water rafting, kayaking, rock climbing and mountaineering. His favorite activities are skating, surfing, and snowboarding. This will be his first year on staff and Arowhon and his first visit to Canada. He is really looking forward to meeting everyone and having lots of fun at camp |

Assistant Ride
Catherine is from Burlington and attends the University of Guelph, majoring in English. She is very excited to be returning to camp for her second year as a riding instructor. She previously worked for several summers as a riding camp counselor, and is a Kemur Camp alumni. Outside of camp, Catherine is a seasoned horseback rider of over ten years in primarily dressage and jumpers, a devoted horse owner and most of all, horse-crazy! She co-hosts a sports radio show on CFRU 93.3, and is an MC for Athletics at U of G, where she hosts varsity games and runs contests. She was awarded the Halton Federation of Agriculture scholarship, and is a published author with Elder and Leemaur. Catherine is loving, passionate, goofy and caring, and is looking forward to another great summer with Arowhon’s fabulous campers and horses! |

Assistant Climb
This is Emily's ninth summer at camp and her second year on staff. Last summer she was a climb specialist and counsellor in Junior Girls. Emily is from Toronto and studies at University of Toronto Schools. She is a member of all three of the school’s choirs and is one of the student coordinators of the large choir and chamber choir. She also participates in musicals with the Toronto Youth Theatre (TYT). Currently she is working on writing a musical with a small group of students through the TYT. Emily also enjoys philosophy, music, and art. This will be Emily’s first summer as a full time instructor and she is excited to spend so much on the wall – her favourite place in camp. |

Assistant Ride
Jessie is from Toronto and is currently enrolled in grade eleven at Lawrence Park. C.I. Jessie first came to camp when she was seven years old and this summer coming up will be her tenth at camp. In her spare time Jessie is a dance instructor at Groove School of Dance, teaching kids Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop. She is also a ski instructor with the Snowhawks Ravens. Outside of school she is part of a competitive dance company called Toronto Dance Machine and regularly competes in tap. This will be Jessie’s first summer on staff and we can’t wait to see her at the barn. |

Assistant Kayak
Kate is from Stafford, England. She studies at the University of Birmingham, majoring in International Business and French. At university she works part-time as a Student Ambassador, where she talks to students about higher education, and tries to show them what being a student at university is like. She has been involved in scouts since the age of 8, and loves camping and outdoor sports. Through the scouts she gained her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award, and it was at scouts that she developed her love for kayaking. At university she is a member of the kayaking club, and this year has started to progress onto white-water kayaking. She had a great summer last year at a Girl Scout camp in Maine, USA, where she was a counsellor and helped out with canoeing, outdoor skills and hiking. This will be Kate’s first summer at Arowhon and we are looking forward to welcoming her to the team. |

Assistant Canoe
This will be Katie’s eleventh year at Arowhon and third on staff. Katie is from Montreal, where she is a second year student at Marianopolis College in the Creative Arts Program. She will be graduating from this program in December 2010, after which she hopes to either start university, or travel and volunteer for a semester. Katie also used to organize volunteer opportunities for the other students in high school, and continues today to volunteer at the Jewish General Hospital. In school she is one of the editors of the newspaper. Outside school, Katie enjoys playing the guitar and traveling, having just returned from five weeks in Mexico. She is very excited to be teaching full time at the canoe dock this summer, where she spent the majority of her camper days and has worked as a specialist the past two summers. |

Assistant Tennis
Leigh Turner is from Grafton, Australia, a small country town in northern New South Wales. She completed High School in 2009 and will be attending University studying Sports Science and later Physiotherapy from 2011. This is her first year at Camp Arowhon. Leigh has worked as a tennis coach in the past, teaching children from 6-15yrs in Grafton. She’s also volunteered as a teacher’s aid at a local primary school. Leigh was on the Student Representative Council at Grafton High School, and supported community fund raising events such as Anzac Day (memorial for fallen soldiers), Relay for Life (cancer awareness fundraiser), assisted the Grafton Jacaranda floral festival organising committee. She is a keen tennis player, being a member of the Junction Hill Tennis Club, playing regularly on weekends and in NSW regional age tournaments. |

Assistant Arts & Crafts
Mary-Rose is from Toronto and goes to McGill University. This will be her eleventh summer at camp, and her second summer on staff. Having completed the LIT program three summers ago and been a great counsellor in the Inter Girls last summer, Mary-Rose has an extensive amount of experience working with children of all ages. She worked as a volunteer for the after school program at the Toronto JCC throughout her high school years, and also works at a birthday party club for kids. She is super excited to be coming back to camp, and hopes to make A&C the best activity of the summer! |

Assistant Ride
Meghan is from Burlington, Ontario, and has recently finished her second year at the University of Guelph where she is studying sociology. In January 2010 she will be attending Keele University in Staffordshire, England for a semester on exchange. Meghan has been riding since the age of eight and has owned two fantastic horses on which she competed for many years in eventing and jumper. Meghan loves to be active and also enjoys yoga and running. She loves to spend time outdoors, having spent many summers up north in Muskoka. In the past Meghan has volunteered as a mentor for a program called Peers Empowering Peers, as well as at her riding stable. Meghan is from a big family, so she loves to be around people! This is Meghan’s first summer instructing at Camp Arowhon and she is very excited about joining the Arowhon family for years to come. |

Assistant Ride
Melissa is from England and is currently in her final year at Bournemouth University studying a Leisure Marketing degree. She has never worked in Canada before but worked at a summer camp in Oregon in 2008 as a riding instructor. Last year she abseiled down the highest water fall in England and raised money for a charity called the Anthony Nolan Trust. Melissa is quite adventurous and always like to try new things. She really enjoys riding and playing tennis, swimming, running and socialising with her friends. This will be her first summer on staff and we know she will be a big hit at the barn. |

Assistant Archery
Noah Gotlieb was born in Toronto, ON, but has lived in Baltimore, MD for much of his life. This has allowed him to acquire an eclectic bunch of friends and experiences and subsequently made him very outgoing, adaptable, and friendly. This will be his first summer at Arowhon and he is excited to be returning to Canada. |

Assistant Girls Swim
Skyler lives in Mulmur, Ontario and has been a swimming instructor and lifeguard for four years at various pools. She also spent a summer as an In Motion Counsellor promoting physically healthy living to children. She attends Guelph University majoring in English with a minor in Marketing Management. She’s played soccer for thirteen years and has been part of musicals most of her life (Annie, Oliver!, and Grease). This will be her first year working at Camp Arowhon and she’s excited to meet new people and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere Arowhon has to offer. |
