Activities

Some camps are mostly social; some are all about relaxing. Arowhon is a skill-based learning environment because our kids go home knowing they can do things they never thought they’d even try. The confidence that grows from perfecting a kayak roll, or making it to the top of the climbing wall, or windsurfing across the lake, or controlling a sailboat, or starring in a play – no matter what the activity, the experience of gaining competence (and the delight of being recognized for it by staff who notice and care) gives kids positive energy and belief in their power. At camp we call this a “life-long learnable,” and it's key to setting every camper on a path towards perseverance and belief in their ability to succeed. Read about our Staff
