The camping movement has known since its inception a century ago that when you take children out of the city and bring them to live in nature, their foundation strengthens.

By the grace of our home on our own lake deep in the unspoiled wilderness of Algonquin Park, Arowhon is a profound break from the over-stimulation and noise of the city. When we take children out of the city, far away from computers and TV screens, their focus shifts: they open to new possibilities, to deeper friendships and to their own growth.

From our own private lake we can paddle directly into the heart of Algonquin Park — a 3000 square mile wilderness refuge of thousands of lakes, rivers and forest. On our multi-day canoe trips, campers get a precious opportunity to inhabit a magical land where loons pierce the silence with their song and moose munch on water lilies.
